Filishano

The landowner Filishano was here, in the Filiaşi area, from 1815.
In 1896 the Filishano tomb chapel was built, but it is today in a sad state of disrepair.

Pieces from the roof have fallen off, as can be seen in the photo to the immediate left. In the close up of the door to the chapel can be seen, above the door, the coat of arms of Filishano's family.

Smaranda and Dimitrie Filishanu, landowners in this district, died without children, but they left a legacy for the people of the area. Here is the hospital built and given free to the community in 1896.

Filishano spring water from Bilta, rebuilt by the authorities last year when the original stone with the inscription was broken and lost (?) and replaced with a new one.

These monuments are important because D. Filishano was a great man,who gave to the community, for free, important utilities such as the hospital, chapel, spring water etc. If only all communities had a man like him...
