Alexandru Gheorghe's Architecture Site
Cioroiu Nou - Proposal for Weather Protection
Cioroiu Nou - this is a study (still in conceptual form, with more upgrades planned) that Alexandru made for an 'Archaeology and Architecture' course at his University, as a proposal for Cioroiu Nou site.

It involves a dome, 60 m in diameter and 10 m high, with an 'oculus' in the upper part (the opening - very good for natural ventilation, it ensures the hot and humid air gets out and the rain doesn't get in because of this ascending continuous air current). The structure has a honeycomb shape, made of metal, and glass panels.

Also, inside you can see very thin fabric walls, hung from the structure, to give some sense of the dimension and relation of the buildings.

Upon further archaeological study, such a model can be replicated (with different sizes) for other points of interest in the huge (over 10 hectares) area of occupation for the Roman site at Cioroiu Nou.
