Local authorities are now ready to start, in cooperation with the Alexis team, a large project to protect and promote this old building, starting in spring 2011.

In preparation for this, Adrian accompanied an expert in ancient buildoings, Enache Gheorghe 'Chiriac', or Tata Gheorghe, aged 75, who has a great deal of experience in repairing problems such as these.

Tata Gheorghe has examined the ancient building and has solved a lot of problems concerning its rehabilitation. Soon the Alexis team will start to clean up the back yard of this monument, make a good fence around it, a light for night time entry, as well as a sign for visitors to warn them that this is a protected historical monument.

In addition, the inside of the building will be cleaned up to facilitate a future project to repair it properly.

In Goiesti village, Dolj County, there is a Mayor very dedicated to the protection and promotion of Romanian culture, Ing. Adam Atanasie.

In this village, in the northern part of Dolj County the Amaradia river flows, and is protected by hills all around.

On a hill, not far from Goiesti, on the right bank of the Amaradia River is this ghost house.

The house is one which was formerly the abode of an important Romanian poet, Alexandru Macedonski, for many years bordered by agricultural lands.

Today, the building is very damaged, but the Mayor is trying to protect it, and to make good repairs to the house.

Macedonski Poet Macedonski Poet

Alexandru Macedonski (1854-1920), Romanian poet, writer and literary critic.

A forerunner of local modernist literature, he is the first local author to have used free verse, and claimed by some to have been the first in modern European literature. Within the framework of Romanian literature, Macedonski is seen by critics as second only to national poet Mihai Eminescu; as leader of a cosmopolitan and aestheticist trend formed around his Literatorul journal, he was diametrically opposed to the inward-looking traditionalism of Eminescu and his school.
