The Lipovu Twin Trees Site

Lipovu TT site Lipovu TT site
In the valley of the Puturoasa River, on the left of the main road to Craiova, when exiting from Perisor village, Dr Gheorghe followed the road to the right after leaving the site of Puturoasa, and found a large valley, between two small hills, bordered by forests, with a small well in the middle, on the right bank of an ancient small river, today not running.

There must be a site near it, because the well is just near two twinned trees, and not so far from here, about 100 metres to the NE Dr Gheorghe found a site with some ancient pottery pieces. It will be necessary to come back again in November, because there is too much grass on the field at this time to see artefacts easily.

The GPS coordinates are: 44.15156° N, 23.52081° E

It may be advisable to develop a spreadsheet with a points system, with 1 point for a source of water, 1 for a hill nearby, 1 for a forest nearby, and so on. On this basis, the "Twin Trees" site has 7 points.
