Fossils at Vogna

Throughout the Vogna Valley there are a lot of fossils in the hills around. According to one of the best specialists from Oltenia Museum, Paleontologist Aurelian Popescu these shells are from the Romanian II era, more than two million years old. There was once a huge sea in the Oltenia area, covering the entire area which today is dry land.
